Installing ‘My Diary’

Please note the diary is only available on Windows platform. Do you have Microsoft Office 2000, 2003 or 2007? (containing Access 2000, 2003 or 2007)?

If ‘No’, please follow the instructions HERE and then continue below.

Next steps are to download and install the software. Click HERE to download. You will be invited to save it on your computer, or cancel. Click the ‘save’ button.

It will tell you that ‘MyDiary.exe’ is downloaded. Double-click to run the install program. You will probably be asked “Do you want to run this file?”. It will say that the publisher is unknown, but I assure you that the publisher is Ian Vincent Mulder. Click the ‘Run’ button to start the install.

It will suggest installing in something like "... My Documents\downloads\". It’s important to overwrite the file path with c:\MyDiary\ - so to make sure, copy and paste the characters in green before clicking ‘extract’. The diary files are instantly installed.

Now look for the folder c:\MyDiary in Windows Explorer. (If you had this open already, hit F5 to refresh it.) You’ll see a small file called ‘My Diary’, Don’t confuse it with all the other similarly named files. The one you want is of type ‘Shortcut’ and shows this logo alongside: Copy it to your desktop.

You have finished the installation and need never bother with it again! To start your diary, this and every time, just use your desktop shortcut.
